ABVs have to prove they are qualified to value your business by passing the ABV certification exam.
ABVs must meet a yearly minimum of 20 hours of continuing education. CPAs have to meet a yearly minimum of 160 hours of continuing education over a three year period.
ABV's have to comply with the standards as set forth by AICPA. CPAs have to comply with state board and AICPA standards as set forth by those governing bodies.
